The pattern is clear: (1) they want to make it impossible for you to do anything with a computer without an internet connection (so everything you do can be monitored) (2) they want you to have to buy not just a new computer every year, but all new software as well.

Noticed that too, it is becoming quite bizarre. Hope it will eventually make a significant amount of users go for free alternatives instead.

Paranoia is a very comforting state of mind. If you think they're out to get you, it means you think you matter.

It's not paranoia if you're right. 😁

It is still paranoia even if you are wrong, but just because you are paranoid it doesn't mean you are wrong.

BGWG as in Boogie Woogie.

All this is going to end when (1) you have to pay microsoft $100 a month to keep them from de-activating your copy of windows, or (2) you have to pay google $100 a month for the use of google docs and online stiorage (because your computer had been reduced to a terminal) plus another $100 a month for internet access

Have you watched the H+ youtube webseries?

I think computing will be us evolving and mixing. Genetically healthier..stronger.., and intertwined with machines. This will really only happen when we get rid of greedy companies and people that are blocking that path.

Until that point I see something like Google Glass as the interface, our DNA as a storage device and suits/shoes becoming the power source.

We are the weakest link at this point. We still have only 3 senses that really can interface with computers. Then there's programming interface.

The real question about it ending for people though. It's Utopia. People not working their lifes away for a paycheck. Machines/computers do the dirty work for us to sustain the world and humans can go back to the working on the art's or creativeness and get to actually enjoy life and explore the world/galaxy(s). Too bad this won't happen in our lifetime.
