Hey guys, i got me an Hoontech YMF744B XG card with digital / spdif input.
I have tried its XG and its pretty nice.

I am wondering can any one provide me with 60XG daughterboard recording of an midi?
I want to hear the difference between the two.

If any one is willing to help, here is the midi file:

Also here is an 16BIT HIGH level FLAC recording off of the Hoontech XG card (using Sound Blaster Xtreme Music 24BIT 96kHz settings):
{Edit: Just noticed Gold Wave was set to 44.1kHz 24b}

Also i have used the enhancement application (PowerYMF) for the optimal quality XG samples and 44.1kHz output support.

Here's my sample Stojke, it's from a Yamaha SW60XG midi card in my P166MMX retro rig (played with MegaMID for DOS). Recorded using a Dynex DX-SC51 with GoldWave 5.61 (set at 44.1kHz 16-bit mode) in Windows XP SP3.

Hope this helps.

Ooohh, the pain......

Awesome! Thank you Jay 😁

It sounds pretty similar drum wise, where the 60XG has some extra notes and is a bit higher in tone.
Once the SW1000XG card ive bought a few months ago finally arrives (is still at friends brother in Slovenia) i will also post a recording from it as well, so if any one is interested can hear the difference 😀

If you want we can organize to record some other MIDI sequences as well and make a comparison.
