Thanks, but it's a NT4 DLL file, while 94wbank.exe is a Win9x application. It just refuses to work with this DLL.

I have tried 94wbank.exe in Win98SE and it runs with the default driver which does not contain dream9407.dll. You are right that the dll is a NT4 dll and the program uses it when run from NT4.
This is with a Guillemot Maxi Sound 64 Home Studio with Dream driver 5.0.

By the way, does your Maxi Sound 64 have a S/PDIF connector? If yes, then does it work in pure DOS?

It doesn't have an SPDIF, but the EWS64XL has two f.e. and they work also from plain DOS.

What is "f.e."?

I have tried to run 94wbank.exe in a Win98SE system with Terratec EWS64XL installed, but to no avail. It still complains about dream9407.dll absence. Can someone compile the attached files into a 94B bank?

Why do you think the 94wbank utility works with the EWS64?
Terratec uses a completely own driver and firmware for the Dream. While I haven't tried this, I doubt that it works.
The maxi sound series cards however use a standard Dream driver as part of their package, so I suggest you try such a card.

I thought of buying a Guillemot Dream9407 based card, but current ebay offers aren't very generous.

While EWS64XL usually goes for 30-40€. Is it recommended to wait for lower Guillemot prices, or are those prices already adequate?
