Hello guys, I just read a post somewhere else stating that a Roland MT-100 is the same as an MT-32 just with an integrated sequencer.
Supposedly this model does NOT have the buffer-overrun bug which is present in the original MT-32.
Also will this model miss any sound from the early Sierra games?
Can you guys confirm this? Have you had any experiences with it?

maybe it's built around the newer mt32 models that don't have the buffer problem but have differences in sierra games

Yes it's got the same motherboard as the MT-32 (New), which means:

- No buffer issues
- Does NOT play some Sierra sounds accurately

From what I understand, buffer overflow on the original MT-32 may produce some unique sounds on Sierra games but also has a chance of locking up completely, requiring the unit to be powered off and then back on. I'm going to assume that if any custom patches were uploaded by the game then the whole game will need to be reset as well.

That statement needs elaboration 😀

Sierra games do not generate buffer overflow issues on old units. It's other games that didn't accommodate the MT-32 (Old) which can't handle data being sent to fast.

Sierra sounds sounding wrong on other units has nothing to do with buffer overflow. The two issues are separate.
