I'd really like to have a dual Tualatin motherboard just to play around with. Preferably one from Abit.
Prices are too crazy for one of these, though. My only hope is finding one that is repairable one day.

And an Aureal Vortex 2. That's already on the horizon. 😀

Are you still looking? I might have one on the garage. It might not be abit, but I'm pretty sure it's dual Tualatin. If so, I can take pictures of it tomorrow. I'm in Germany.

The only thing "missing" from my collection is a proper Amiga monitor (or any 15KHz horizontal sync CRT that I could use with my Amigas). I can't justify the price of the stuff I see for sale on eBay. I can't find anything listed on the well-known wiki for "modern" displays with 15KHz.

Not letting this thread die, having read it warms my heart 😀

I'm pretty content with the graphics cards I managed to gather so far and the systems required to run them, but there's always room for more.

What I would really and particularly love to get my hands on one day are:
- 3dfx Voodoo 5 6000 (I mean, come on, who wouldn't?)
- Videologic Apocalypse 5D (I almost got one once for a two-digit price, loooong ago)
- Hercules TNT2 Ultra (fastest TNT2U (or 2nd fastest if you count the Falcon NW-OC-model))

X5698 4.4Ghz dual core. Prices are insane.
So I am satisfied for my cheapo 50 euro X58 Windows 98 machine using a cheap X5687 of which I got a pair for 15 euros, including S+H.

I've pretty much got everything I want , the only thing id really consider is CMSLPT for a couple of games ,
but even then I'm already running into conflict issues with all the different cards I've crammed into my Pentium 1 build.

I guess I could also go for a Matrox mystique for nostalgias sake ,
but that would interfere with the plans I have for the Pentium 2/3 rig I'm working on getting together.

So I think I'm good.

X68K and FMTownes but no PC98? You'd have the complete "big three" of Japanese home computers with one 😁

Gotta get your daily intake of Touhou.

I didn't think I really wanted anything specific, I seem to keep buying stuff I think is a decent price when it's right in front of me, however there's one or two items I am afraid to say out loud in case it increases interest in them 🤣

Heh, I end up staring at listings of stuff I could afford for a few days straight until they sell, wondering if i really want them or not.

Though really, I'm working at this backwards, I've gotta get rid of stuff until I have a collection, rather than buy more stuff to have one. Meaning the art of collection is in the selection and curation to a theme or to suit one's interest, rather than just having a bunch of crap.

But anyway, I sorta want XT class portables, I sorta want a FX5x00 series GPU, I sorta want a late high end AGP card, I sorta want a big box Amiga, I sorta want a C3

edit: July 2022 a sorta FX5x00 sorta turned up. Just a 5200.

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

Cyrix 5x86-100GP
AMD AM5x86-P75 (133)

The k5 200 is truly a oddity. not in that it's rare, but rather that it's even valuable at all 🤣. there really isn't anything special about it other than it's the fastest K5. it's not like it's the fastest chip that will work in some motherboards like the cyrix 120. or even the fastest amd, there are faster k6 chips even faster socket 5 amd chips

I'd like to have a "IDT WinChip 2A-266" or at least a "2A-233" for my socket 7 board 😀

Building my own PCs since 1991 - for my retro builds it's "no CF-disks, no Floppy emulators, no modern cases etc.", only the real and authentic stuff whenever possible.

Which model CP3000? The CP3000, CP3040, CP3044, CP340, CP342, CP344 are all similarly named ~40MB disks. Conner part numbers are notoriously confusing.

Really only two things missing from my collection:
Kalok Octagon KL-341 (SCSI-1 variant of the KL-343, which might not have ever been made)
Computer Memories Inc CMI 4213/4426 (half height servo actuated drive which might have never hit production)
