+1 for adblock and no-script, along with ghostery to get the rest.
Its not safe to browse the web without them anymore.
I would never support a game that forced me to disable them.
I'd suspect it of trying to get malware into my system. Suggest not playing that game 🤣 .

You're absolutely right. Legitimate ad networks, including Google, have been abused to spread viruses.

Yeah you may want to rethink that reliance on AdBlock:

ABP has an optional whitelist. Yeah, big deal.

And they only whitelist non animated non flash ads if you choose to allow it. Not a big deal.

I first came to ABP, but now I choose AdBlock from https://getadblock.com because it blocks all ads by default.

The last post was a week ago, so I don't know what gave you that idea. Was there a spam post that was deleted..?

The adblocker I could really recommend to you is {AdBlock}.

Yes, you have mentioned that several times now. Also, I have no idea why you keep writing it as {AdBlock}.

Actually, I have been hearing more and more about uBlock (or µBlock) lately.

I just uncheck the "allow some non-intrusive advertising" checkbox in the filter preferences for ABP. I still use it instead of ABE because ABE doesn't get rid of the ad boxes on DeviantArt.

There are adboxes there?

I just mean the placeholder boxes where the ads would show up, if they were loaded in the first place.

I was just asking why are we going kind of fighting with our choices (ABE, uBlock, ABP, etc...)...

As I said in the top post on page 1, I will refer to AdBlock from getadblock.com as {AdBlock} with brackets, since if it is used without brackets, it will refer to both {AdBlock} and ABP.

The ABP team has negative comments against that.

*ABP is an abbreviation for Adblock Plus.
