I've found a local escape room. Idea is that you suddenly got sucked into your PC and have to get out in one hour by solving puzzles etc. Alas, the puzzles are quite far away from computer theme. You mostly need to find keys from locks. Luckily, one of main puzzles is to convert some binary number into decimal for using onto a combination lock. Also, you need to enter passwords to few Windows XP computers using some hints.

But overall it's quite boring and not very related to computers. I think with my knowledge of retro PCs I could make it much more entertaining (I could get retro equipment and make up some software to imitate a proprietary operating system of EVIL COMPUTER MIND, HAR HAR HAR). I'm open to your ideas of what equipment to use and what puzzles or tasks are suitable for a computer themed quest room.

Note that, according to the questroom owners, most people who visit this quest are not much into computers.

Is this a RU specific thing? Your story does not really make sense to me. 🤣

Well, is it my bad English skills? I mean this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real-life_room_escape. It's not a RU specific thing. Just a quest game in real life. You pay $$$ and have to escape some room, and there's some plot. Like, mafia has captured you and tied with handcuffs to a pipe in a garage, and you have an hour before they return and gut you savagely. But this time it's a computer related quest: you got sucked into your PC. There's even a painting on the wall representing some C++ code but reversed from right to left, like if you were looking from inside the display.

Yes, I've been starting to hear of these real-life room escape things in the United States, Peter, mostly 2014 onward and in large cities. Kind of an "artistic real-life adventure",

Interesting! The only thing I have ever experienced escaping from are haunted houses (Halloween / summer fairs in the EU) and corn mazes. 🤣

Yeah, this is more like you and a small team play Sherlock Holmes/MacGyver. For some near you:

unless you're back in LI now? I've lost track. 😀
