Vaz (Lada) were once very common in Sweden as they were the cheapest cars you could buy! 😀

I have it because its economical, no tax, extremly low insurance (less than 100 euro/year) and if the battery go flat you just use the crank! 😈

Come on. You drive a horrible thirty years old car with almost no safety at all?

38 year old car! 😎

The Volvo 960 is the car I use for longer trips, the noise in the VAZ gets a bit irritating after a while. Its a perfect second car though as it dosnt cost anything when its not beeing used. The volvo 960 is 24 year old though so Im not sure it can be called a safe car by todays standards and as it has a tuned B204FT 16 valve turbo engine...

What about corrosion and lack of spare parts?

Never had a drivers license in my entire life. Nor owned a car.
My daily driver is a 4-speed normal standard bike.

Don't eat stuff off a 15 year old never cleaned cpu cooler.
Those cakes make you sick....

I drive my kids insane, if that counts.

"Dad, I'm 10 and even I'm way more mature than you...."
"What do you mean?"
"You sing at the top of your voice in the middle of the shop..."
"But it's a good song! I think they liked it!"
"Dad... they didn't."
"But you did, right?"

I love it.

Rust is not really an issue with the Vaz, sure there is corrosion but not more than expected, the Volvo dosnt have any corrosion at all. When it comes to spare parts its probably a bit of an issue with the Vaz as they stopped selling the 210x series in Sweden more than 25 years ago. I have not replaced anything except filters, bulbs, oil and hoses during the years I have had it so I cant say I know for sure though.

New PC: i9 12900K @5GHz all cores @1.2v. MSI PRO Z690-A. 32GB DDR4 3600 CL14. 3070Ti.
Old PC: Dual Xeon X5690@4.6GHz, EVGA SR-2, 48GB DDR3R@2000MHz, Intel X25-M. GTX 980ti.
Older PC: K6-3+ 400@600MHz, PC-Chips M577, 256MB SDRAM, AWE64, Voodoo Banshee.

Parts are still made and sold in Russia, for insanely low prices. The cars made for export were MUCH better, btw. Cars sold locally suffer a lot from corrosion. In most yards in Omsk you can find a VAZ that looks like this:

Good. For me it's the opposite.

That thing is GORGEOUS! Off-roaders are not my thing, but that is one good-looking old timer.

I mainly drive a 2002 Peugeot 406 estate, 2 litre petrol auto - comfortable, spacious, easy to manouevre, cheap to maintain.

Our other car is a 2002 Skoda Fabia 1.4 8-valve. Characterful in its way.

Awesome truck!

Are you in West Sumatera? I've spent a fair amount of time in Padang & the highlands around Bukkit Tinggi; these are definitely the preferred truck for bush bashing & backroads up there. So many nice ones around and the off-road prep some of them get is just insane. I almost bought one myself from a 4WD shop when I was there but luckily(??) common sense prevailed. 😀

Some of the cars here make me almost embarrassed to share. Some not so much. I like my little BMW although I don't think it will survive its next MOT. 1998 1.9l 318ti.

Love the compact, I had one for 10 years before I got the 130. It was a MOT fail that made me sell it. Don't see many on the roads these days.

I see a lot of oldskool bimmers on the road here - quite a few E30s, E36s (saloon, M3 and compact), and quite a few E46 compacts. I would love love love an E36 M3 evolution.

I drove a E36 325 coupe once and it wasn't anything special. Lackluster drive with a rock hard suspension. In fact, it's one of the cars I'd least want to own.

Used to drive a '97 Hyundai Accent LS, now a '03 Coupe FX 1.6l. Quite okay for its price, cheap parts generally but its main advantage is that problems are mostly nonexistent!

Why dose ford have to sell all the cool cars outside the US? We just got the RS focus and it's just a botched ST 😵
