Clean the PCI contacts on the card. Put it in another slot.

As the Pentiums and Voodoo are both PnP, BIOS should list it at boot time as Multimedia device or something.

This computer i have cant really be told is a pentium but it perhaps might be and is strong enough to run it Win98SE
and the graphics is passed thou fine wich is weird.

Anything less then Pentium 100 isn't really recommended for Voodoo but it will work. 486 is another story though.

It is at around 700 the speed for it so that should be plenty.

700? As in 700MHz? If it is a Pentium, it is a Coppermine Pentium 3 most likely. The original Voodoo had issues running on PCs that are too fast (the Voodoo2 is much better in this regard, with only a few driver versions having this issue), and I think 700MHz CPU is way past what a Voodoo can handle.

Sure, P-III 700 (Coppermine) was released in October 1999.

You haven't told us which Voodoo card. Could be a Voodoo 2 for all we know.

A trick that works for me almost every time: Install the oldest Diamond drivers you can find (doesn't matter if it's not a Diamond card). This should work. Then you can install the driver package you want (latest reference driver, 3rd party...).

Oh, yeah, sorry on that, its the voodoo 1 dragon card.

You can try dropping the FSB down to 66Mz (to get 7x66 = 462MHz), but that might still be too fast.

Would i need to change that in the bios? it has no butten on the front, the amazeing with this computer thou when i bought it second hand the machine was virtually in stock condition and not that very much touched on so it was very easy to clean up the computer.

Either in the BIOS, or there are jumpers or switches on the mainboard.

I didnt see jumpers on its board so its likely the bios i need to do.
