I've got a Tie Fighter box here and it has artwork on the back. I've not seen one like that with a blank back before.

Have you opened it yet? It could be a resealed legit copy with a replacement back.

I can't say for certain, but the way the box bends around the back kinda leads towards DonutKing's idea that someone lost the back of the box so they just used a blank white one which happened to fit and then re-shrinkwrapped it.

Something I learned many years ago is that when you buy games from vendors at shows and whatnot, you're basically taking a huge gamble as just about anything goes. One time I bought a sealed copy of Diablo from such a vendor, opened it up, and it had a shareware disc inside. :(

The point there being there's probably TONS of wonky boxes and such of games floating around because of this.

Plus the other thing too, if it was some sort of early prototype, the back would likely fit properly. :P

Or out of backcovers and solved it by using generic white ones.
Maybe something went wrong when placing the order by the supplier or the supplier made a mistake.

I found it always dissappointing to see cd inlays on MobyGames for games I got while I got just a blank jewelcase in the box.
