I am familiar with some, and getting more familiar with other, Dos benchmarking software... though what about Windows & NT? Are there any decent programs that can be run under them? The main parameter being tested would be CPU performance, but of course others would be welcome.

Thanks in Advance.

Old versions of "new" benches. Almost anything from Windows XP will have an older version that runs on NT. Early versions will also run on Win 3.1. You have Winbench, Winstone and Wintune series.

Thanks for the reply... yea i'll see if I can find any older versions of some of those. It'll be pre-95 Windows only and for a 386/486 system i'll be running it on.

I don't know if it's helpful, but I remember a little benchmark utilitiy named WinSpeed.
It was win32s compatible and ran on WinNT/9x aswell.

I haven't checked but there are websites like http://filehippo.com and http://oldversion.com.

Thanks for the links... will hopefully dig up something useful that is compatible with older Windows versions.

Yea, I saw this but wasn't too sure how (or if) it would run on 386 / 486's. Will give it a try along with any others, thanks.

Uhm, I meant a different utility (GetmanSoft WinSpeed).
It was written in the '90s and is/was Freeware. It's just a tiny graphics benchmark.
I've got it from one of my shareware CDs, but I can't find it on the web right now..

In my search for a good Windows 3.x info tool/benchmark I will resurrect this thread...

So, I tried WinTune 2.0 - but it hangs on my system.

`WindSock` benchmark tool seems to work fine in Windows 3.11, it has an extensive GDI test...

Infoplus for DOS is running fine in a Windows 3.1 window.

Maybe we can make this list longer...

Let's not forget Winbench 3.1.

Can anyone guess what is the Disk Winmark score? It was ran on SSD and apparently it has 7 digits, first five must must be 96965 or 86865, but I don't know if last last two are digits or letters.
