The formulas there make for some interesting math. While that "stack" of paper folded 50 times would be very tall, what about the other two dimensions? Remember there is only so much mass to a sheet of paper. Also going to extremes like the above link will "break" certain math problems.

As for the other stuff, pick up a calculus book and read the first chapter on limits and asymptotes.
