I just stumbled on this Kickstarter, apparently they are making a solitaire game and releasing it for MS-DOS which is a nice retro touch!
Apparently they are aiming for the game to run on real hardware - requirements are :

- 3.5" floppy drive
- 386 or better
- 640 kb of RAM
- VGA graphics
- Mouse

Anyone know of other games currently in development that get MS-DOS releases like this? That's so cool 😀

ADOM continues to have versions for MS-DOS, although that one started development in the '90s.

With some tweaking, many games made with AGS can be played in DOSBox, although performance isn't optimal: https://youtu.be/VYFL1Q8aeSk

They're missing a few, off the top of my head- H-Tron, Floppy Bird, Magenta's Maze.

But it's kind of cool to see that my little game *is* on there ;-)

Floppy Bird is listed here - http://www.doshaven.eu/game/383/. I didn't know about the other two, I will add them soon (probably tomorrow) 😀

Also - there are some new games coming, I will add them at the end of the month. All of them are part of DOS programming competition I held on my website - http://www.high-voltage.cz/2017/soutez-tvorba … os-2017-anketa/

Thanks for that link, I'm trying Ascii Sector right now! 😀

Btw, why are there no little more sophisticated games ?
ASCII is neat, but all that 320x200 stuff is depressing.
Does anyone know of recent DOS games (adventures, puzzles) that use novel-like* graphics in hi-res monochrome ?
I.e, 640x200 CGA, 720x348 Hercules, MCGA 640x480x2 ?

(*By novel-like, I mean the style of old books that used ink / Indian ink for their mono drawings.)
