So I was wondering, has anyone ever remade the theme Windows 98 uses during the system setup ?
I find it actually cool, I'd love to use it as a theme on my Windows 98 PC, but it isn't an actual theme.
If anyone is wondering, I'm talking about this:

or, even better, this one

Notice how the blue title bar fits INSIDE the actual window, it looks so cool, almost brings a bit of depth into the windows, with obvious modifications (for example, adding the _ [] and X buttons on top right), it would've made a really cool theme, so I was wondering if anyone has ever done that, I'd really love to use that as a theme.

I'm not sure if there's a program like WindowBlinds for 9x though

Try Windows 3.1x, or Windows NT 3.xx or OS/2 1.3.

They all have that same theme.

And all Windows 9x installations run inside a real mode mini Windows 3.1 session.

I am aroused about any X86 motherboard that has full functional ISA slot. I think i have problem. Not really into that original (Turbo) XT,286,386 and CGA/EGA stuff. So just a DOS nut.
PS. If I upload RAR, it is a 16-bit DOS RAR Version 2.50.

The "Setup theme" is a really tiny Windows 3.1 copy with heavy ctl3d usage. Windowblinds is your best bet for recreating the shell here (though the shareware doesn't handle borders iirc)

is the latest the best version or, since it happened with other programs, has weird bugs ?

Marginally off topic but Win95 allowed you to select Win3x or Win95 interface.
Not sure how good it is, it's one of those things I've been meaning to try out for over 20 years now

Back in the day I actually chose to use the progman interface over the "Start" interface, I think I stuck with it for about 6 months until I realised that "Start" was here to stay and I'd best get used to it.
