Does anyone know if it's still being developed?
Does anyone know if it's still being developed?
I downloaded that eDuke (OpenGL isn't all that important to me) but then I discovered it only works with Duke3D v1.5 (Atomic Edition) and I only have 1.3d...
It's a shame the work isn't continued anymore ... I think it's strange that Doom seemd so easy to adjust for OpenGL/Direct3d. I've played ZDoomGL for a while, as I thought it was a very big succes.
It's a shame, but no-one's to blame 😉
Thx for the reply guys!
It easier for DOOM engine games because ID Software has release the source code for those games. 3DRealms unfortunately has not released the source for their BUILD engine games which makes it MUCH harder to release a port.
... and doom is a lot older by now ... Maybe some day we will get a fully working ZDoomGl equivalent for Duke3D. Not that I care anymore, I'm back into adventure games 😉

There is another programmer taking a whack at GLDuke but there's not a whole lot of info (other than revision data) at his temporary page:
showthread.php?s=&threadid=454
(Word of warning: He's got an 800k+ JPEG image on that page).
The real hope is (I least I hope it is...) GLBuild at:

Nothing playable yet, but you can "fly" through the various maps.
He just updated it a couple of weeks ago, so now it loads sprites as well as the maps and their textures in "real" 3D.
Here's hoping...
That GLBuld doesn't look bad at all indeed!
