I have been reading online in many places how the AC line input filter capacitor can go bad and release the infamous "magic smoke", at seemingly random times.

My main 486 box, a Presario 425, is an all-in-one machine so I'm not sure about its power supply, but does anyone know if it uses EVOX-RIFA capacitors, and should I be worried about it or is it fine?

The computer functions beautifully, no weird smells (it smells like a library! 🤣 ) but of course I've always got to worry about these things.

I do have a smashed 433, and while it is newer and uses many different branded parts (e.g. JVC for the picture tube whereas my 425 has Panasonic, Conner hard drive instead of Seagate) but I think I could possibly peek inside as reference.

I do believe RIFA capacitors were primarily used in the 80s and not as much in 1993 when this Compaq was made.

All advice appreciated!
