I liked the MS-DOS Editor too. And Quick Basic was alright.

I'll let you in on a little secret... MS-DOS Editor is *gasp* just a front-end to QBASIC Editor! You cannot run it without QBASIC.EXE!

That is why I prefer the edit.exe from win98/98se. It doesn't require QBASIC....😉

Yeh I also "upgrade" edit on my dos rigs to the one from 9x
but that's because you can have multiple files open and copy and paste keys were updated to use Ctrl C and V

Never did send in my registration card though for dos or 9x (lame attempt at keeping this on topic) 😜

Love to but Ctrl +Ins and Shift +Ins isn't working!?
I admit I had to quickly use a 6.22 boot disk to remind myself the keys 😜

I don't think I've ever registered or activated anything with microsoft. With 2001+ versions of their stuff, I either have used pre-installed, corporate/oem keys, or generally avoided their anti-consumer movements. It's actually pretty easy to do, and I'm not talking about pirating. I doubt that I'll ever need to use anything that will require me to hand over my personal information to them.
