About 1 week ago, Dave Smith passed away.

While I also collect synthesizers, vintage computers and MIDI gear have also always been just as connected / close to my heart. I'm sure most of us here probably know who Dave was and what he did, but I feel like he deserved a mention here to say the least. Dave, often dubbed "the father of MIDI," had such an incredible impact on the technologies that allowed our games to have music, when an actual digital recording of that music could have exceeded the available storage for software distribution (and even most peoples computers) at the time.

RIP Dave.

Bummer. Always been a fan of DSI/Sequential instruments.

This is a big loss for the synth community.
