As mentioned in an earlier post, I have now created an early release of xyWords: Text-Mode Edition.
It is a small DOS game where you use letters in the wheel to find words on the board and clear the level.
It's inspired by "Wordscapes" and has a similar game play but.. a very different look 😀

This is a follow-up to the earlier "xyWords" release which was targeted at CGA Graphics xyWords - New DOS game for XT/CGA
It has some significant differences (including lack of graphics mode..) including a new statistics and records mode.
You can enter text with the keyboard or use something like arrow keys/space to select a letter. This is useful for handheld PCs or emulators where using A-Z keys might be too hard.

This edition is targeted at XT era PC's with 256KB of RAM, Monochrome (MDA) display and 360KB Floppy (it might squish on a 160KB if you try hard enough)
I have included a zip file which has got the game binary (packed), included source for Quickbasic 4.5 and a ready-to-use disk image.

If you play it on an XT/AT with a real monochrome CRT I would love to see the results.
This is just an early version and may have bugs/limits
