Well back then in my country (90s), computer was just a term for intelligent machines that did work. It was in late 80s I think TV became popular (people used to follow and peek into houses to watch TV).

Computers became popular here around the late Pentium 4 era, and more prominently in the C2D era. Other misc hardware like graphics card and audio card were probably still not in sale (I never saw one).
