Original D3D7 or with D3D8 patch?

Patched (v1.4) GOG version.

Mmmm, the original retail disc has this "unofficial" patch: http://www.giantswd.org/?file=60

It doesn't look good (DX8).

Guess it's impossible to get an answer from anyone here. Ah well.

It's a small forum. There's not that many people here, much less willing to test a game for you within 16 hours. I could've done it, but you gave up before I even saw your post.

It's funny. Water in SC1 appears exactly in the same wrong way as in Morrowind.

Is Morrowind an Unreal engine game? Or just a contemporary water generation technique was in use in common in the games? Like the one from the DX8 SDK. 😀 😀

Chrome (the game) problem 😁 (Z buffer related?)

Chrome_Single_2015_12_16_01_39_39_062.jpg

(and first level doesn't load, the same problem happened with the first versions of ReShade D3D8->9 wrapper)

How can you launch that game with dgVoodoo? I got some complains in the debug output that it couldn't find any compatible 24bit ( 😕 ) display modes.

I myself don't know, never tried it. The best you can do is download the game demo (if available) and test it. If it works OK with that then it will also work with game by good chances.

I don't have any of these problems, the only thing I had to do to make the game work was raising vram. The first level loads just fine however some vegetation textures are missing.

Chrome Specforce is the same.
