VOGONS

The game runs without dgVoodoo, but with dgVoodoo it crashes on startup. I get a black screen that flickers and I can only see the dgvoodoo logo being displayed before it crashes. I thought maybe the intro videos may be the problem, since dgVoodoo has issues with those, so I removed them, but it still crashes.

The game manual says the game uses DirectX 7.0a. Is there some debug mode I can enable to send you the log or something ?

Demo behaves the same, you can just Google it, it is available on Fileplanet.

I'm running Windows 7 and R9 270X, used dgVoodoo 2.6, tried with all graphics card options.

Well, that seems to fixed it, thanks. dgVoodoo really needs some compatibility list for this kind of info to be easily available.

BTW, do you maybe know where the game stores the settings, I can't find it anywhere ?

No one's stopping you.

Assuming it's like the demo it's pretty easy to figure out, start Process Monitor, create a filter to sort out irrelevant things:

filters.png
Filename
filters.png
File size
8.95 KiB
Views
488 views
File license
Fair use/fair dealing exception

Then go to "File" and disable "Capture Events". Start the game, go to the options menu, go back to Process Monitor and enable "Capture Events", change an option then exit the game:

procmon.png
Filename
procmon.png
File size
25.46 KiB
Views
488 views
File license
Fair use/fair dealing exception

Should be fairly simple to figure out from here right? I mean there's only one file that gets written, it's virtualized on the computer I tested on, but it's GameDirectory\scripts\GLkeys.cfg , for the demo at least.

Thanks for the tutorial. I tried using that program once, but I didn't know how to use it.

As for the compatibility list, when I use dgVoodoo to fix or enhance a game I write it on PCGamingWiki.
For example Starship Troopers Terran Ascendancy or Nocturne:
https://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Starship_Troope … rran_Ascendancy
https://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Nocturne

I created a page for Gunlok, but have not wrote this info there yet.
