I've found that Earth Defense Force Insect Armageddon crashes after around 60 seconds of playing when using dgvoodoo2. Time for crashing seems to depend on how many enemies you kill.

Tested with 2.79.3, 2.81 and 2.81.2.

This games has a problem and resolutions higher than 2560x1440 show pitch black in some elements (sky, shadowed areas..)
Using dgvoodoo2 to force 4K works great but after a while, the game crashes (x86 d3d9.dll).
Windows Event Viewer shows this:

Tried every possible option in dgvoodoo2, disabling cores/HT, etc

UPDATE: Using dgvoodoo2 to wrap d3d9 to dx11 and then wrapping to vulkan with DXVK solves the crash.
