The original release, not GOG. Tested with WIP93 and 2.81.3. Windows 10.

Sometimes the game loads into the main menu, other times crashes after the intro video.
It seems to be related to the videos, since without the disc (which the videos are located on), it apparently launches properly every time.

The videos show a black screen and only play the audio, although that's because they are QuickTime.

EDIT: Is it possible to passthrough video playback to the system?

P.S. For some reason, launching the game with the disc, force enables mouse acceleration in windows control panel.
