Arx Libertatis on WindowsXP *.pak Files not found

I like to install Arx Libertatis 1.2.1 on a winXP (32bit) system.
So i installed Arx Fatalis from cd, update to latest patch and install Arx Libertatis. After that the Game crash on startup. The arx.log say that it cant find the pak data files. But they in the game dir. I also checks the dir in regedit.
Anyone had same problems and have a solution for this?

Supposedly v1.3 restored XP support, previously you had to use v1.1.2, although using CF explorer on v1.22 and above and changing OS subsystem appeared to work fine for getting it to work on XP.

I tryed a v1.3 version. where i have to change the subsystem and what value?
I installed cfexplorer and edit the exe under optional Header/ Subsystem value are Windows Gui, you point on that value ?

Or is it maybe possible to update from 1.1.2 to latest version without using the installer?
