There’s a patch to fix the scrolling on ATI cards (search the PCKF to find it, it’s made by King_Duke) but I don’t know if it works with Matrox cards too. I know it does nothing for Neomagic laptop cards.

It does. Both that patch and the one in this thread are required to get keen4 working correctly on the millennium. In the case of my Mystique 220, only the king duke patch is required

Not every, only if mode 0xD is requested, then it sets correct horizontal retrace end values. It does leave CRTC regs unprotected, but I don't think that it is a problem, because if application requests this EGA\VGA mode it should not write CGA CRTC values, right? 😀

Just want to say thanks for sharing this! Not only does it fix the Keen games, but for me also a bunch of others!

It fixes discoloration / dull colors on VGA out to a lcd monitor for the following games ive tested using a 486 and video card using CT65548P :
- Crystal Caves 1
- Sensible Soccer - International Edition
- Sensible World of Soccer

- Also seems to fix Starcontrol 1 and 2 in my lcd monitors 😀

I continue to find games this helps to fix video issues on...added Star control to the list.

Toys for Bob games had weird palette issues some video cards don't like and had a parameter switch to workaround that IIRC. Archon Ultra and Star Control 2 may also be effected
