Just built a Pentium 3 based system (see sig - last rig listed) and was wondering what later DOS game I could try where it would run in a window instead of booting to dos. May not be feasible but thought I'd ask anyways.

Asus P5N-E Intel Core 2 Duo 3.33ghz. 4GB DDR2 Geforce 470 1GB SB X-Fi Titanium 650W XP SP3
Intel SE440BX P3 450 256MB 80GB SSD Radeon 7200 64mb SB 32pnp 350W 98SE
MSI x570 Gaming Pro Carbon Ryzen 3700x 32GB DDR4 Zotac RTX 3070 8GB WD Black 1TB 850W

You're talking about running DOS games inside of a Windows' DOS box and not from within DOS 7.1 (reboot to DOS option), right?

Yeah, that's right - hoping to avoid having to re-boot. Maybe some later DOS games will work like Duke Nuken 3D, Star Wars Darkforces and etc. Hoping someone can recommend some others.

Well, I think, most of late DOS games will work like that, actually. If you're into shooters — definitely everything based on Doom (Heretic, Hexen) or Duke Nukem (Blood, Shadow Warrior, Redneck Rampage, Witchhaven). Also, Terminator: Future Shock/Skynet.

Thanks! I'm a big Terminator fan, will check out Future Shock/Skynet.

Thanks, you can see pics of it under the "system specs" forum under oldskool2. It was a PITA getting the parts (Asus board was costly) but it runs like a dream.

You notice that much of a difference running a 133fsb cpu and memory? Didn't know the mobo could handle it but guess it's fine.
