F-PROT 3.16f and 2009 virus definitions, when the old F-PROT forums were online and the original author active I asked about it and he gave me these DOS definitions and he told me they were free to use. Just start the program with the .BAT file to bypass date check of definition files.

Virus Buster, anyone? For DOS, no virus will be targeting them anymore.

This doesn't mean that there aren't old systems / HDDs / floppies / downloads from the internet that aren't infected with viruses that work on DOS systems.

How about Edgarware ? 😁

Who knows ? Some industrial and embedded systems surely run on DOS, some of which are based on x86-SBCs using Pentium-level CPUs. 😀
In theory, these systems are featuring some kind of connectivity by now and could be "targets" of some kind.
Just think of some legacy stuff (software wise) that runs in power stations, sub ways and so on. Or maybe new stuff, even.

Datalight ROM-DOS is still on sale, as well. https://www.datalight.com/products/rom-dos/
Also, the russian PTS-DOS/Paragon DOS was considered mil-level stuff, for example,
which once caused some trouble initially when some devs decided to make profit with it.

Anyway, I understand that it is unlikely that there's a big market for DOS malware as of today.
But on the other hand, statistics don't cover niche market systems very well, let alone embedded systems.
All they care about is the consumer stuff (PC, mobile devices etc), as far as I understand,
in order to find out how many "clicks" certain websites get and of what type the visistors are.

Edit:
