What methods do you use to prevent DOS7.1, specifically installers from seeing large amounts of free space available? Is there a way in software to prevent an installer from seeing too much free space?

For example World of Xeen reports having -2GB of free space available and as a result will not let me choose to install the additional content.

Being I am able to leverage FAT32 support, it seems like a hassle to partition out a bunch of 2GB partitions, but is that the only way?

Options:
Fix the program
Create a large file of the size needed
Create partition just for this purpose and resize as needed
Ram disk
Install in DOSBox or other emulator, backup files and use on system
