Darkseed is great, but known for being buggy. I discovered a fix for when the game resets to the title screen when you open the door to receive the package on day 1.

This is v1.51 installed to C:\DARKSEED directory from the original CD-ROM.

You need to go to this directory and type "attrib -r +a *.*"

This sets the files as archive instead of read-only, and fixes this bug. I have not played in very far yet but this could probably clear up other errors, getting past this first problem is enough!

I'm posting here so other people can find it in the future, i did not find the solution in vogons already.
