i have made 1 1.44 floppie version of full install 1.04 2.03 2.11 windows that only need 1 one floppy. real mode 3.ooa and standard mode 3.1 with sound. All have VGA and VESA800 drivers. but no go. So no downloads.

I don't think there's any reason other than to be cute/edgy/whatever. However, since it is part of the client side query string, one can easily fix that, even without recompiling - grab a hex editor, open the exe, find and overwrite the "as if it is 1992," string with spaces.

Back in the 90s, my father did that just weekly.
He used "Win Bank Formular", a Windows 3.1 program to fill out bank forms (special A4 paper was available).

I'm pretty sure that Windows 3.x builds were available for many of the Python 1.x releases - up to 1.6.1 - but I don't suppose that will help you as ChatGPT probably requires late 2.x or 3.

Why are you thinking about interacting with scripts?

Perhaps it wouldn't be too hard to interface WinGPT with a contemporary scripting tool. I found some builds of Tcl for Windows 3.x, and at least one of them doesn't require Win32s (Python does). I've also done some work with XLISP-PLUS, and have fixed some bugs in it so I was able to embed it in another tool (specifically I was able to embed it in a plugin for Borland C++ 4.5). And Lisp was of course a popular language for AI!

ok, I temporarily "mounted" an external WD 500GB laptop hard drive in DOS 6.22 via USB.
Laptop hard drives have the property of switching off early to save power.

From Windows NT4.0, Win9x and up you can create for that a Windows Scripting Host file.

As far as I know there is no Windows Scripting Host for Windows 3.1x available, so what to do..

I thought for a while until I found the one with the loop.

This hard drive is partitioned in 3x FAT16 2GB, the rest in FAT32 for DOS 6.x Compatiblity without need to load e.g.
AVNTFS, PNTFS... to mounting FAT32, NTFS Partitions.
Mounting Tools Like that only works in DOS,
but not in Windows 3.x.

In my case, the next drives after the last partition of the internal hard drive are drive E:\ } drive F:\ G:\ H:\

Loop writes to either F: G: or H:
an empty *.TXT file every 10 seconds.

Namely for the simple reason:
Stop the spinning down from external Harddrive.

Right. For the Elements Portable are No Tools available, so this was-is the alternative Solution.. 🙂
