I recently picked up a copy of Anachronox and have some questions about getting this game to work correctly.
After reading this thread and post, I would like to play using only the 1.01 patch.

1. Without any major spoilers, how do I check if my system is compatible with this game? I have tested it on a WinXP and a Win98SE system with 1.01 and the game seemed to run fine on both.
2. The unofficial patch notes make it seem like 3D sound is one of the things that breaks Win2K/XP support. Does anyone know how to verify this?
3. If 3D sound is an issue, can it be remedied by something simple like using VXD sound drivers or a slower system? I would like to run this game on my WinXP system so I can run it in 'Hi-Res mode (1280x960 resolution)'. My Win98SE system has a Viper V550 (TNT1) and a Pentium III 550, so I would probably be stuck using 'Low-Res (640x480 resolution)'.
