Do exist a more releases of Gravis UltraSound Extreme? I am just curious. Every GUS Extreme was manufacured by Synergy. See the pictures.

And what is real difference/advantage (except record capabilities of MAX) between GUS Classic and GUS MAX? Like sound quality, advantage of MAX's WSS etc?
There are some games with real GUS MAX support.

Is your sound card fully backward compatible with GUS Classic?

@Rabanik: Wrong thread?!?

Event he last question can be reformulated to 'How compatible is a GUS PnP to GUS Classic?'.
I haven't had any issues so far. The Interwave emulates the GUS Classic on hardware level, so it's fully transparent to software.

I advise you to go onto an amazing journey of reading the thread 😀

Speaking of this ... did anyone of you ever manage to get "Absolute Pinball" running on an InterWave based GUS?

That's roughly what I paid (+ shipping + customs added on top).

Seriously considering to stock up on more chips - but can't carry the financial aspect on my own once again.

I imagine there isn't a big market for bulk interwave ics so the auction likely yield a better result unless the seller set a high minimum price.

So ... who of you would donate again or for a first time? Just trying to assess interest

Next round of donations it is then! Just confirmed with the seller the chips are fine and that he'd ship to Germany.
Message me for details on sending money. Any donation above $5 is fine. Target is 500€ this time (managed to push the price down a bit, but shipping and 20% customs have to be added of course)

Conditions are roughly the same for "new" donors as in the first round - except they very likely won't get their names added to the PCB (sorry, no space).
Donating will enable you to buy up to 3 PCBs for production costs with the InterWave chip presoldered by me once the final run starts - the rest will be have to be assembled by the buyer (I don't have the facilities to assemble 100+ cards by hand).

Last news are the ones Elianda posted. There's been a bit of a short hiatus recently 😉

Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, but will the card be sold as a kit — meaning, all the necessary components are sold with the PCB? Or do I need to source everything but the PCB and InterWave chip elsewhere?

You'll very likely have to source your own.
Haven't finally decided it yet, but never actually planned to sell kits. Schematic and partslist will be publically available.
One thing I considered was including the SIMM slot and audio jacks with the cards, as those aren't totally easy to obtain (but not exactly hard either).

For now consider no kits.
