Some ss but still no luck on sound fx. And the speaker turns on automatically when drivers load and keeps a buzzing sound even if headset is plugged in.

naa, nothing yet...

Dos fx problem might be because of:
"Note: Due to the lack of DMA channel support in the PCMCIA structure,
some of the DOS GAME will not play Sound properly"

Sad since i bought it for that, sure music is nice also but wolf3d will still crash as soon it tries to play a sound fx 😀

naa, nothing yet...

Nice card tabm0de, and thanks for the pictures!
Having owned the EXP Soundnote, I know that the speaker buzzing is annoying, an issue with shielding in the PCMCIA port if I had to guess.
Also, yes, you'll only get AdLib FM in DOS, no digitized sound.

Digitized sound will work under Windows for Windows software, but no Sound Blaster emulation in DOS, nor in a DOS box under Windows.

The Panasonic sound cards are not going to do SB emulation in pure dos, you're only going to get adlib music. If someone knows a magic trick to get both to work please do let me know! I think you will be hard pressed to find a pcmcia card that does both of those and has a gameport...actually it will be hard to get one with a gameport at all. It may be possible to find a pcmcia gameport though. Here is the picture of one I picked up some years back.

I have one of these but never knew what drivers to use with it. Do you have ones that work? Is it just a joystick card or can it play sound too?

Which one do you have?
NewMedia Basics Gameport: works in DOS/Windows 3.x, Windows 95, Windows NT, and OS/2
NewMedia Mobile Gamer and clones like the EXPNET Game Traveler or Argosy gamecard: work in DOS/Win9x/WinNT and as a MIDI device in Win9x

IO DATA PCJOY: works in DOS/Win3x/Win9x
IO DATA PCJOY2: works in Win9x and as a MIDI device
You'll need the DB15-MIDI cable to connect the card to an external MIDI device.

There are other Cardbus cards as well, the EMU 1616 and 1616M, the Echo Layla, Mona and Indigo series, the Creative Audigy 2 ZS Notebook.

It could be a cdrom drive controller...is there a picture of the back of the card or a model number on the ebay auction?
