I recently bought an SC-88 Pro, mainly for music composition, but of course I do have plans to play some games with it, and something I was curious about was how different it sounds from a regular SC-88. For anyone here who owns both modules, does an 88 Pro in 88 Map mode sound any different from a standard SC-88? Can you provide any audio samples? I can't seem to find anything about this online.

Thanks!

I own both. To my ears the SC-88 Pro set to the 88 map sounds identical to the regular SC-88.

I'll see if I can put together a couple comparative recordings.

That'd be fantastic, thanks a bunch! 😊

Wow, I honestly can't tell any differences between the two; very neat! Thanks again for recording and uploading these!

Just to add my confirmation, as this was brought up on another forum that I frequent; The SC-88Pro uses the same synth engine and the same DAC as the SC-88, so it's SC-88 mode is identical to the real thing, so it should sound exactly the same, as those recordings show. The SC-88Pro is essentially a straight upgrade from the SC-88. Only thing that may change that view is the price, really, depending on what you find.
