So many wonderful retro sound devices, so few parallel ports. 😅

Great work, man.

new release 0.10 of TNDLPT utils : https://github.com/pdewacht/tndlpt/releases
- tlpttest.exe : plays test music, does not need TSR : utility for testing your TNDLPT
- tndreset.exe : utility to unmute the TNDLPT (useful in case you use software written for previous TNDLPT prototypes without muting circuit)
- tndlpt.com : TSR to add TNDLPT support to games that support tandy music. Requires QEMM.

A microcontroller would be required to allow this device to communicate via the USB port instead of just using that port for power. I know the ATTiny13 microcontroller is only used to mute the chips on reset, but a slightly more ambitious design would give us the ability to use these sound chips easily with the most modern devices.

Yes with ATmega16u2 its possible.

it also would be possible to omit soundchip completely.
SN76489 is pretty easy to emulate..

but for USB i would rather opt for a Multi SoundChip Variant 😁

Hi there, does this device work on 8088/9,54mhz and can I use it for sierra-adventures (agi)
and perhaps some other hercules-compatible games? that would be NICE!

btw. can I get this thing completly soldered?

No, on 8088 you can only use Programs using LPT native (vgmplay for example),
maybe some day there is a patch for sci/agi,
but for now it only works on 386+ due to the need for a TSR mapping all port accesses to LPT.

i also own a Schneider Euro PC and work on a combined Card for Expanding it with Sound and CF.
but my Euro PC is broken down again currently, and i can`t seem to fetch working parts for a reasonable price now...

root42 did a new Video for tndlpt!

Thx sorry for your not working EuroPC, I hope you can fix it.
Would be nice if there is an XT-IDE with Sound on ISA....but I really like the PC-Speaker on the MDA-Games 😀

Please add also support for choosing Port Adresses for regular Tandy (0C0/0E0/1E0/2C0h)!

Thanks!

The modified sound system uses variables for both, the port number and the port output handler function, already.
There's just no menu support, yet, which is also why the prototypical TNDLPT support replaces and thereby breaks traditional Tandy support.
The variables are still hard-wired to specific values.

Personally, I do Sound on Tandy LPT (Quite different) :- )

https://youtu.be/nSGbkdeDuUw

More "Seriously", I am looking for the Tandy Deskmate music file format to add the support for this in my player.
Then, the Tandy LPT will be more usefull as well.

Who is releasing this tracker ?
Don't forget to send its file format to me so that I can add it in Mod Master.
Also, the .MON Format should be added in the code.
I have plenty of idea :-p
