I have Sb Awe64 PnP (CT4330). I initialize card under DOS by means of unisound and have got loud sound. By under Windows 95 sound volume is unsufficient.
20 years ago in my childhood i remember such bug. We changed AWE64 driver on SB-AWE64 compatible drivers and had got additional sliders in windows 95 mixer.
But now such trick doesn't work (i still have my old ct4330 card). Based old faqs i have found that i need to tune output gain parameters (0x41 and 0x42 - see attached file) which allow to increase volume up to 18 dB.
I suppose that unisound initialize CT1745 mixer on full volume (with full gain). But under Windows 98 output gain parameters are reset to default levels (o db gain).
Old faq talks that output gain parameters must be controlled in Creative Mixer. I have installed creative mixer but such parameters is absent (only 3d sound exists). What to do? May be any registry keys available to tune Output gain parameters?
I tried to use all creative drivers (include last creative update and Win 98 se internal drivers).
