And if that card is not great do you know some other cards that support both formats?

Yamaha YMF 7x4 cards also support both. Anything which uses Sensaura should do so as well. Personally, I found that EAX doesn't sound so great on such cards, and some games won't even detect it properly.

On the flip side, A3D 1.0 sounds quite nice on Sensaura. As for the more advanced A3D 2.0 (used by Quake 3) I was unable to get that to work on the Sensaura implementation of the YMF 7x4 cards. Some people claim that they were able to make it run on newer Sensaura cards by using specific drivers and .DLL files, but that doesn't sound like a very reliable solution.

Thanks a lot for the info. I will also check out the Yamaha. I think it is worth trying for sure. Even if I should run into troubles with EAX games like other people did, a dedicated EAX sound cards like one the sb live family would not break the bank. it would be no problem to get sb live card as a back up for certain EAX titles.

thanks for the recommendation and the very informative video. This Yamaha card is worth considering as well for sure next to the Terratec card.
