I'd be keen on adding OPL3LPT support to DOSMid, so it could be used on 286 laptops and such. Where can I find the specs for the expected LPT output? I would also need some testers once implemented, since I do not have the device myself.

These are the programming examples you're probably looking for:
I agree that these code samples are a bit hard to find, being hidden inside a closed GitHub issue thread. Perhaps they should be listed in the project's README file as well.

Something went wrong when you copy/pasted those links to the opening post. They don't work there now. The trick is to not just copy/paste the text of the link, since the forum abbreviates the text of long links. Instead, right-click on the links and then select "copy link location" (or whatever your web browser calls it). Then you'll get the actual full URL in your clipboard.
Don't worry, it's a common mistake, which I've also made a few times myself. 😅

Are there any gerber files for the OPL2LPT? I really don't feel like paying 21% VAT for something going to the USA.

No gerber available.
If you dont wish to buy from Europe (shipping times are also large these days) , you could consider OPL3LPT instead :
this is available from 8 bit guy : http://www.the8bitguy.com/product/opl3lpt-ad- … lel-sound-card/ (but he is out of stock at the moment)
or from excel valley : https://www.excelvalley.com/product/opl3plt-synth/

I tried using ADLiPT TSR on my Windows 98 machine in DOS box, but it tells me that a wrong version of EMM386 is installed. But the version that comes with Windows 98 is 4.95, well above the required 4.46.
What am I doing wrong?
