Hello Everyone, since I am really lazy and have not forced myself to disassemble my current DOS-PC I would love to ask if I should swap my ESS1868f sound card with this SoundBlaster one, is it worth, and does it have the hanging note bug ?

Also are drivers available for this card ?

Any help is highly appreciated 😀

Yes, it does have the hanging note bug but, it is less noisy than the older Sound Blaster 16 cards.
It also uses Creative's CQM synthesis (i.e., doesn't have a real Yamaha OPL3 FM synthesis chip).

And how bad is the emulation ?

The ESS1868 has less noise, no bugged MPU-401 and FM is much closer to OPL3 than CQM is. Why do you even consider replacing it? Unless you want the Sound Blaster for the sake of having a Sound Blaster, you would lose more than you gain. (you only gain SB16 support anyway, at the expense of losing SB Pro stereo).

I have one with OPL3-L, it may be very uncommon though.

Also are drivers available for this card ?

http://vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?fileid=13&menustate=0

but there are other driver packs there that might work as well.
