I am trying to output spdif from an audigy1 to a headphone DAC. But it seems to get no signal. I have tried both a minijack to 3rca splitter as well as an official spdif breakout box from creative. Win98 setting to output digital only. I dont have another dac device handy to test....is there anything else I might be doing wrong with the audigy itself?

So I switched to an Audigy2, not only does it seem to have far less trouble with my Via 133a chipset motherboard, but the spdif out worked the first time. Sounds great too! Only downside is the VXD driver install was a bit more painful, and I have heard the Audigy2 VXD drivers don't work so well...? I hope it will be fine.

I’m currently using the Audigy2 in two 133A based computers without issue. I’ve not had any issues myself, but if you encounter any, please let us know!

I used Audigy2 earlier with VIA KT133A for several years. And had not issues too.

I think it was here....something about the Audigy2 being made for WinXP not Win98 and the VXD drivers no longer being supported when it was released. But so far it works for me so it was probably just someone speculating.
