I'm asuming thats what the X-FI isos here are for
http://vogonsdrivers.com/index.php?catid=7

The driver CD would be the same for the full range based on that EMU chip. Hopefully these aren't for the EMU20K2 chip!

What is the PCI ID as seen in device manager for your card?

I have the 2005 X-Fi XP Install CD that I will go ahead and image and upload to vogonsdrivers.
CD ID is:
SBXF-SIS1D-W2-LB

Here it is:
http://www.vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?file … menustate=43,36

Edit: This CD looks exactly like the one that came with the Fatal1ty FPS according to a listing I found on eBay.

The CD contents listed on the box also matches what is on this CD. Hopefully it works for you.

If I remember correctly, the .inf file had nothing to do with the setup program being able to detect the card you were installing.
The setup program did all of that. Even if the main install for the CD will not work, you may be able to install the missing apps one by one as I don't think they check for specific cards.

A little bit of history about the Vista support for the X-Fi PCI cards.
Apparently back in the day, Creative did not have working Vista drivers for the X-Fi cards.

At one point they released a CD for Vista that you could order for the price of shipping.
I think the ID of this CD was SBXF-SIVIS-W2-LB.

Once it was out, some people made an ISO and stuck it on various file sharing sites as well as torrent.

Try as I might, I have been unable to find any working links for this ISO.

I was able to find what I think may be a new copy of the Vista X-Fi CD and ordered it along with the X-Fi demo CD.
I'll update this thread once I receive it. If it is different than the XP/Vista CD that is already on vogonsdrivers, I will go ahead and make an ISO and upload it.

Edit: 3,400th post for me.. Woohoo!

Sweet! Glad to hear it. And people wonder why I don't throw stuff like this out. I knew I had an X-Fi disc. Had to dig through one of my big boxes of CDs to find it.

I think it is the hardware ID, but you could post all of the IDs listed.

The Vista disc was shipped out to me today so it should probably arrive sometime next week.

Yep, just as a suspected. The drivers from any of those CDs should technically work. It is just the setup program that is being stupid.

I found the Vista installation CD and Demo DVD on Ebay.

Just finished uploading the Vista driver CD. It has a different Disc ID and is also newer than the Vista ISO that was already on vogonsdrivers. Also has XP / XP 64 / 2k drivers as well.

I'll do the DEMO DVD soon.

I wonder if there was ever a Vista Installer CD that worked with that card.

I'll have to take a look and see if maybe there is some resource/config file that defines what cards the setup program sees.

What happens if you just install the drivers and then go into each application folder on the CD and run the setup programs for each application separately?

Yeah.. The Creative autoupdate I am pretty sure no longer works. It was really janky even when it was working.
