Hi all,

I'm building up a late DOS/Win98 gaming PC based around a Gigabyte BX-2000+ motherboard, likely a ~ 1Ghz CPU, it has a SB-Link connector.

I have two sound cards in waiting: Audigy 2 ZS PCI or AWE64 Value ISA.

I'm confused about what choice of sound card; the Audigy might get some better value in Windows, but ISA AWE64 wouldn't be terrible either. Which card would you use, or both? 😀

Thanks

JB

I think you can use both for your purpose: Audigy 2 ZS for Win98 while AWE64 Value for DOS. Just make sure you reserve IRQ5 for your AWE64 Value so the two cards won't get in each other's way.

The problem, however, is how to mix/route the outputs of both cards.

EDIT: As for SB-Link... Neither of the cards would be able to make use of it... It's needed for PC-PCI which is supported by some other PCI audio cards.
