Hello, I got hold on AWE64 Ct4500 but I have a problem with it.

It seems that it distorts heavily if the output volume is set more than 80% from the mixer. It acts the same on DOS and WIN 98 setup.
I also noticed that I cannot change output volume at all while playing Wolfenstein 3d, somehow volume mixer doesn't have any effect on 8bit samples and as a result they distort heavily.

So, my question is that is CT4500 just pure crap, or is there a solution to this?

I have tried CT4520 and CT4380 and while they are both AWE64's they have completely different PCBs also, they don't seem to have this distortion problem.
