My Sound Blaster Pro 2.0 is picking up noise from my motherboard.
I can hear ticking noise from booting tympanic clicking noise.
CDROM spin up noise and static noise.
I have a speaker plugged in an those are the noises I hear.

How can I fix this ?....

Making sure that all inputs are disabled/muted in the mixer is a good first step .

Beyond that, I've heard of both motherboards and PSUs being responsible for sound card noise . You may want to try swapping out the PSU or trying the sound card in another PC to eliminate the motherboard as a source .

I would also try with headphones to eliminate the speakers themselves as a cause .

Im pretty sure SBPro and older cards are known to be noise machines. Especially Creative from what iv read.

Hell, i have a Pro Audio Spectrum 16, and those things are suppose to be amazing for their time with shielding and high build quality, but even it is a absolute disaster hissing noise machine at volumes my CT2230 are absolutely silent at.

Replace the capacitors.

Short of that, use a newer high quality ATX power supply and an ATX to AT adapter. That may take care of it unless the motherboard is really really bad.

FIXED.

It was just all the Apps the sound blaster loads by default.
I just commented them out in autoexec.bat
Works fine now.

Thanks guys.

Interesting, maybe one of those enables the line-in or microphone in .
