Hi everyone!
I'm planning to build a 386SX PC, but I'm a bit lost about which sound card should I get.
I would like to have as much SB-Pro compatibility as possible, no hanging note bugs and MPU-401.

Thank you for your replies!!

Be on the look out for a Yamaha YMF based card, then. They seem to usually be less expensive than the creative cards, and only have minor issues related to filtering and specifically Duke Nukem 2.

Back in the day when we had a 386sx-25 as out main computer I first had an Adlib clone that I bought used and then later bought a used Opti 930 with OPL3 and onboard wavetable. I used that card up until the time I switched to a PCI sound card because my motherboard no longer had ISA slots.

Never had an issue with compatibility with any games. I never used the MPU-401 part of it but I don't see why it should have any issues.

If you are in the USA, there is a seller on eBay that is selling some for $23 + shipping

If you want to avoid the risk of hanging notes you should look for a ESS for example.

My Retrosystems:
PIII on GA-6BA running Win98SE
AMD K6 233 on GA-586HX with Win95
Tandon 286-8MHZ Running DOS 6.22 on XTIDE-CF
M326 486DLC + 4c87dlc (Dos+Win3.11)
ECS UM4980 AMD DX2 80 5V (Dos & Win3.11)
