Hi,
My win 98 starts in DOS mode ( i want it that way) and i have no sound in games. I need to enter windows, restart in dos mode, and only after that the games will have sound. I have a feeling it's related with my autoexec file being empty. Can somebody point me in the right direction on how to fix this?
Compaq Deskpro 4000, pentium MMX 233, Genius sound card, windows 98.

There is file called 'dosstart.bat' inside c:\windows directory. Look into it.
Also, please be more detailed about sound card - photo of main chip would be perfect.

Card is based on popular Crystal CS4237 chip. This chip is PnP so you need Unisound initializer UNISOUND - Universal ISA PnP Sound Card Driver for DOS v0.81b
