Hello everybody, i've had this sound card in my other pc, which was socket 1 and it worked just fine. However, in my current setup (amd k6 266, 128mb ram, quantum fireball 6gb, s3 virge 4mb (added ram with chips) , acorp 5tx29), it just shows code 9 error message. sometimes i can see that device appeared in sound device options, but after reboot i still get the same message. if anyone knows how to deal woth that ot would be very appreciated.
p.s soundblaster emulation in most games works just fine even without drivers

I would recommend to look at the jumper settings to get the correct IRQ/DMA/adress settings. Then go into bios and reserve this IRQ to legacy ISA. In BIOS, set resource configuration to auto /by BIOS, NOT let it controll by PNP OS. (You can't trust windows 9x to controll resources) Install the driver and set the values manually.

ES688 has a jumper for selecting SB2.0 and SB Pro 2 mode..
Maybe the driver expects the latter, not sure.
