Does anyone know if this card will support cd audio in all games in windows 98se? I was looking into this sound card and all it says in the manual about the subject is that to get cd audio you must enable digital audio in control panel as opposed to using a analog or digital internal cable. Would this cause incompatibilities with any games?
I have an Audigy2 ZS which is slightly newer, but I think CD audio should work the same way for your card. Here are my experiences:
a) Audigy2 ZS + VxD drivers on Win98SE = analog CD audio cable works fine, digital CD audio is disabled and grayed out in Control Panel
b) Audigy2 ZS + WDM drivers on Win98SE = analog CD audio cable works fine, digital CD audio can be enabled in Control Panel (in which case you no longer need the cable)
Note that WDM drivers can cause problems in certain Win9x games, especially those that use EAX. Creative's driver CD installer recommends WDM drivers for music creation and VxD drivers for gaming.
