Sounds interesting (no play on words).
The QS1000 have a sound of its own, personally I like it 😀
Any news about the Crystal Blaster C2? I'm waiting impatiently for it.

I must have missed this announcement entirely, just stumbled on it in my YouTube feed. This thing has a VERY charming sound.

Another cutie 😀

More QS1000 samples at the top of this thread (I'm not sure if they're 100% representative of the QWave though): My Wavetable Sample Thread

Yes quite a different sound than the 2MB Diamond Monster. This QWave will sound more like the examples linked to by Pierre32 above.

Another exciting development for 90s midi nerds and now there's talk of a Crystal based DB coming out? Very excellent.

The problem of those chips is that all that is left are all fakes, and they're not even cheap fakes, it is what has postponed my Yamaha sound card for I think 2 years now...

First post says 4Mbit ROM, which as we all know = 512 kilobytes, half a meg.

Yeah, that's why I said 4Mb not 4MB..

Sorry appiah4 I wasn't calling you out, I was clarifying because Jccwu had typed "2Mb" in his question above, when referring to the Diamond Monster 2MB daughterboard. So it seemed like there was scope for confusion there (not by you).

I really like how this thing sounds.... It has no business sounding as good as it does, really. How?..

It's easier to make great sounding stuff, today, using yesterday's parts and today's know-how and good component availability. I can only imagine how great a Yamaha XG synth would sound with today's board designs and components. If we could get the full performance of the SW1000XG with daughterboards in a compact Waveblaster or external box synth, it would be phenomenal!

Goodness me it does sound good - I have the 2MB Diamond Monster version of this chipset so was telling myself I didn't need this, but this little guy sounds nicer to my ears.
